It's important to understand that the water from your bathroom tap may not be suitable for drinking due to a few factors. Firstly, the water from your bathroom tap may contain higher levels of minerals, such as calcium and magnesium, which can make the water taste different and may not be suitable for drinking.

Secondly, the water from your bathroom tap may not be treated to the same level as the water from your kitchen tap, which means it may contain harmful bacteria or other contaminants. However, in countries like the USA and the UK, there is a reliable purifying system in place that ensures clean water is available in every part of the city. The water from your kitchen tap is treated to a high standard, which means it's safe to drink.

The same clean water that goes to the kitchen also goes to the bathroom, and it's available in every street, restaurant, and hotel. So, you can rest assured that the water from your kitchen tap is safe to drink, and you should avoid drinking the water from your bathroom tap.

This is not the case with African countries. Here most water is been stored in a tank and further distributed to the house. Although some houses have vitrified clay (VC) pipes underground that carry water to the house in a more purified form. Often, what is used to carry water in most houses is copper or lead pipe. When water sits on this pipe for so long it becomes warm which then generates some toxic metal that contaminates the water. If you run your tap frequently you’ll often notice some cold water rushing out. That cold water means that you have flushed out any water that has been sitting in the metal pipes that run through the house.

The kitchen sink is usually applied with a filter that filters the water coming from this pipe making it safe for drinking. Except you’re familiar with your house pipe connection that carries water it is not advisable to drink water from your bathroom tap.

In summary, factors such as unclean storage tanks, lead pipes generating toxic metals and filters not applying to the bathroom tap. It is not advisable to drink tap water.
